This beautiful contemporary American viola was made by Lawrence Furse of Salt Lake City and is modeled after Maggini. This viola possesses a deep, rich, sonorous and mellow tone; displaying excellent craftsmanship, materials. The doble-purfling and motif on the back are a showcase of the maker's technical skill.  Furse has been making wonderful instruments of the violin family for over four decades and it’s surprising that his work is not more well known outside of the Salt Lake area. This instrument would be perfect for an advanced student, teacher or professional. Furse's violas are used as the primary instrument by professional players in Salt Lake City, Chicago and Los Angeles including a member of the LA Phil.
