Local Rent-to-Own Programs
Residents of the states of Utah and California have the option of renting our hand-made student instruments! Our Paganini instruments are far superior in many ways to most rentals. They are fully hand carved and crafted with care by our highly qualified staff. Each rental comes complete with case, brazilwood bow (Glasser by request) and rosin. The instrument may be new or used—but it is always in good, playable condition. If taken care of, used instruments often sound and play better than a brand new one.
If you would like to apply for our Local Rent-to-Own program, please visit either of our shops listed below. Please feel free to stop by at any time; no appointment necessary! If you have any questions, please review the information below, or feel free to contact us by phone.

Requirements and Benefits
Our rental programs are designed with ownership in mind, though you may return the instrument at any time. There are only a few things we will need from you to begin.
- Credit Check With all our rental programs, we ask that you submit to a standard credit check. Depending on the results, you may be asked to include a fully refundable deposit with the initial payment.
- Initial Payment To begin renting, we require payment for the first month for violins and violas, and the first six months for cellos and basses. If you opt in to one of our extended repair coverage programs, you will also pay the applicable fees for the first month with your initial payment. This payment will be processed during your visit with us.
- Automatic Payment (Optional) You may give us a credit/debit card to set up automatic payment for your rental at any time. While it is not required for local renters, it does make the process simpler all around.
All of these steps will be done while you are with us, and usually take 20-45 minutes to complete (depending on how busy we are at the time). If possible, please bring your player along so that we may properly size them, or talk to your teacher so that you know what you will need to help speed up the process for you.
Purchasing
You can always buy the instrument early, if you wish. Your payments are applied directly toward the purchase price, and at any time, you can contact us and pay the remaining balance. At that point, the instrument is yours! You may keep it or use 100% of your principal (minus a small trade in fee) towards trading to a larger size, or a better quality instrument!
Returning/Contract Termination
Alternatively, if for any reason you no longer need the instrument, you can bring it back to us at any time. As soon as we receive it, and as long as it is still in good, playable condition, your contract will be fulfilled and you will no longer need to make payments. Remember: you are still required to make payments until we have received it, and you are responsible for any charges for damages while it is in your possession.
Trading Up/Upgrading
When your child outgrows the instrument, we offer an excellent trade up policy. Simply bring the current instrument in, fill out a new set of paperwork (one per instrument is our policy), and exchange it for a larger sized or better quality instrument. As long as it is in good, playable condition, we will give you 100% of the equity of the instrument, minus a small trade up fee ($49 for violin/viola, $79 for cello, $150 for bass), which will apply directly toward your new instrument. From there you can continue renting, or pay it off entirely, or purchase a higher quality instrument to better fit your child's needs. Should you decide to continue renting, the due date for payments will shift to the day of the trade/upgrade.
Theft & Repair Plan
For local residents, we offer an optional Theft and Repair plan to offset repair costs should your instrument be damaged or lost/stolen. The cost per month is $5 for violins and violas, $8.50 for cellos, and $17 for basses, and covers the following:
- Theft/Loss We will replace the merchandise if stolen or lost. We will only replace the instrument, bow and case. Accessories will not be replaced. Accessories include, but are not limited to, shoulder rests, shoulder rest bags and/or music stands. You must report any loss or theft of the merchandise to the local police within 24 hours of the incident, and provide us with a written police report. Afterwards, we will replace the merchandise with one of similar quality. We will completely replace the instrument only once per account.
- Repairs We will make necessary repairs to keep the instrument in good playing condition. Accessory repair and/or replacement is not covered. Cosmetic defects such as scratches or dents in the finish that do not affect the playing condition of the instrument will be repaired at our discretion. Bow re-hairs and cases are covered. We will completely replace the instrument and/or bow only once per account if it is damaged beyond a reasonable repair. If the instrument must remain in our repair shop more than 5 working days, at the customer’s request, we will provide a loaner to be used until the repair is completed.
Repairs
If the instrument is ever damaged, let us know so we can determine what is needed to fix it. You should bring it to us as soon as possible so that we can fix it for you. We will appraise the damage and inform you of the repair’s total cost, if any. You will still need to pay your monthly payments, and the instrument will not be returned to you until the repair has been paid for. If you have the applicable Theft and Repair plan, all repair costs for the instrument or bow will be covered (where applicable - see above).
If you need your repair done quickly, and would rather take your rental to a different repair shop, you must first contact us and let us know. You will be responsible for any and all charges by the local shop, regardless of whether you have chosen our Theft and Repair plan or not. If the repaired instrument is returned to us, and the repair is not up to our standards, you will be responsible for any further repair costs.
