Salastina is a musical salon for the 21st century. By day, they are world-class performers and studio musicians who’ve played on your favorite films. By night, they are on a mission to broaden the definition of what classical music was, is, and can be.

Salastina is directed by violin duo between Maia Jasper White and Kevin Kumar. The duo met sharing a stand almost two decades ago. They hit it off both temperamentally and artistically. As their friendship grew, they realized they shared similar musical visions and were energized by using each other as sounding boards. Salastina is the result of their partnership.

Dilay Ra Oygür's performance at the Walt Disney Concert Hall

Charles W. Liu Fine Violins congratulates Dilay Ra Oygür on winning first prize at the Golden Classical Music Awards 2023 International Competition. The purpose of this competition is to discover promising young musical artists and help launch their careers. Dilay flew all the way from her home in Turkey to perform at Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles. In previous years, Dilay has been flown to the United States to perform at Carnegie Hall with the sponsorship of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Turkey and Turkish Airlines. Many people helped to make Dilay's recent performance possible. We were delighted to loan her a fine Italian cello from our collection.  ​
