Out of State Instrument Trial Policy
For customers too far away from our shops who wish to try out an instrument, we offer shipping on most instruments up to $50,000.
Requirements:
First, you must email or fax us a copy of your driver's license and credit card - the physical cards, not just the numbers. Include in the email your phone number if it is not listed on your license. Also include which instrument(s) you wish to try out or you may provide us with specific a price range and the tonal qualities (or other features) you are looking for in the instrument(s).
Once we have this information, we will prepare the instrument(s) for you to try. Once everything is ready, customer will pay both ways of the shipment. This step is not only to verify that your card is valid, but to ensure that instruments which are not purchased are returned safely. If the customer purchases an instrument from the shipment, we will credit the cost of the return shipping toward the price of the instrument. The shipping method we use for instruments over $10,000 should be next day Air(USPS) and under $10,000 should be USPS Priority mail.
*Shipping Costs Vary Based on Fuel Prices and Insurance Costs.
*Some Instruments are Exempt from this Service Due to Contractual Obligations or Insurance Costs/Risks.
*We Reserve the Right to Refuse this Service for Any Reason.
Rules to follow:
1. Customer must initially pay shipping + insurance
2. If a single instrument is shipped and purchased, we will refund the shipping cost. If multiple instruments are included in a shipment and only one is purchased, we will include a pre-paid return shipping label. The return shipping will be credited toward the price of the purchase.
3. If the customer decides to return the instrument, he(she) must return the instrument by the date indicate per the shipping label. If the instrument(s) are not returned by this date, additional charges may apply.
4. We will typically follow up with the customer before the end of the trial period. It is the responsibility of the customer to indicate to Charles W. Liu Fine Violins by phone or email, whether they would like to make a purchase and what they will be returning (if anything) before the end of the trial period. We welcome our customers' feedback in this process and will try to answer any questions our customers might have. If an instrument is processed, we will email a receipt immediately afterward. Any other documents which might be applicable (such as insurance appraisals) will follow in the coming days.
