Frequently Asked Questions
1. Do you have a rental plan?
Yes, we do. We rent all of our student instruments for very affordable monthly payments.
Our Standard Rental plan offers month-to-month payments with 15% interest and the opportunity to return the instrument to us after a period of time with no further cost.
Our 24-month Interest Free Rent-to-Own plan offers customers the chance to pay low monthly payments with 0% interest for 24 months to own their instrument.
We have a local rental program, available to Utah and Southern California Residents, as well as a national rental program, available anywhere in the United States.
You may terminate your rental at any time by checking your instrument in with us and indicating that you wish to cancel the rental. By terminating the rental agreements, the credit that you've accrued toward the purchase of the instrument is non-refundable and non-transferable. Accrued rental credit can only be applied toward renting a larger instrument of the same kind or purchasing out the remainder of the rental contract.
2. I purchased an instrument from your store a while ago. Do you buy back violins?
No. We do not buy back instruments we've sold however, there are options available to you.
We offer 100% trade-in credit (less a small flat trade-in fee and potential repair costs) toward instruments of greater value (some consignment instruments may be excluded). We do not extend trade-in credit to second-hand purchasers.
We may also accept violins and violas priced over $7,500, cellos over $10,000 and bows over $3,000 on consignment. (Please see our consignments page under "Repairs & Services".)
3. I have an instrument from another source and I want to sell it. Do you buy instruments?
We sometime purchase higher-level instruments from private parties. If you have or think you may have a valuable instrument and/or bow, we invite you to make an appointment with us for a free assessment. Typically, we consign these instruments rather than purchasing them outright. (Please see our consignments page under "Repairs & Services".) We are typically interested in rare, fine and antique instruments with great tonal potential, depending on the maker(s), region, age, condition, etc.
We do not purchase student and fractional size instruments from private individuals.
4. Do you have a warranty?
We offer a one-year limited warranty against manufacturer's defects in materials and workmanship on our house-brand instruments such as our Paganini, Bouvier, Laricci, Rovati and Satriani lines. Instruments made by outside makers including antique and modern instruments do not come with a warranty from our shop.

Yes. We have what is called a "Short Term Rental" program. If you are interested in purchasing an instrument from us and desire your teacher to approve it prior to purchasing you can check it out for up to a week. We just fill out some paperwork and you are free to take the instrument to your teacher.. Click here if you are from out of state for more information about instrument trials.

Yes, all instruments under $5,000 come with a bow and case free of charge; the instruments above $5,000 comes with a case only. If you wish to purchase a bow we will give you a generous discount. We do not give a bow for instruments above $5,000 because the quality of bow necessary for an instrument of that caliber would be too much to give away. The case will differ from instrument to instrument.
