A Fine American Viola by David Folland, Salt Lake City 1983

​​This fine contemporary American viola was made by David Folland in 1983, the year he graduated from the Violinmaking School of America in Salt Lake City. At 16”, it delivers a great body of sound but has some of the best playability and response of any of the violas currently available in our shop. Tonally, it has a lovely depth and sonority to the low end and a brilliance in the higher registers while being smooth throughout. It features lovely workmanship and materials throughout and a spectacular varnish. It is definitely a favorite among our staff of players and is suited to the advanced student, teacher or professional violist.
