Lawrence Furse, Salt Lake City 2019

​This beautiful contemporary American viola was made by Lawrence Furse. At 16”, it delivers a massive, deep and resonant sound. Furse has been making instruments of the violin family for over four decades and it’s surprising that his work is not more well known outside of the Salt Lake area. This instrument is charmingly rugged in appearance and solidly reliable. It would make a great companion to the advanced student, teacher or professional. Furse's violas are used as the primary instrument by professional players in Salt Lake City, Chicago and Los Angeles including a member of the LA Phil.
